Are brittany spaniels vicious or is it just this one?
Okay so my friend has a brittany spaniel and i go over her house alot, amd her dog always attacks me and i dont think its playful, sometimes he even breaks skin, and hes aggressive, she says its because he was the first born in his litter, so he has a alpha male personality, but id think that has anything to do with him, because hes so vicous and she says that he dosent do that to her other friends like he does to me, or at least not anywhere as bad, and she also says that its becauses he is only five months old, but this dog is destroying my faith in the breed, are all brittany spaniels like this or is it just him?

First time owner (C.K.C.Spaniel/Daschund/Labrador)...?
OK, first things first yes, I've done my research I first wanted a beagle because of its intelligence and goofy ways, but the more I researched the more I wasn't as keen on adopting one because I would prefer a dog that didn't howl when it found something or be too risky to be off its lead leash. I know, obviously, if I got a beagle it may not turn out like what I've read, but then I got into thinking about a Caliver King Charles Spaniel, a daschund and a labrador narrowing down the pros and cons. These three breeds seem perfect and the health problems aren't putting me down because many of friends have labradors and my parents had a couple of daschunds them selves living in Africa too Here's a mouthful hard to swallow C.K.C.Spaniels Pros for me personally Adorable Amazing for the family, loyal, intelligent, VERY active and I'd love a dog to have a lot of hyper times with, as I'm quite a hyper person and that I'm also 15, so I'd like to get distracted from Facebook and The Sims 3 and also said to be adjustable with cats I have one cat who's turning 2 this year .Cons again, personally Grooming seems to be a bit of a handful especially if I am going to be handling a dog for the first time my parents not a problem, as one of my dad's dogs had around 4 litters in Africa And my mum and dad had around 4 7 dogs any way Daschund shot haired Pros Extremely adorable hey, dont we all want something to coo at once in a while? , quite active dogs and also, I suppose, easier to groom oh, I've heard they can be quite fast little things, but then I've heard they need at least half of the average exercise of an average medium sized dog.Cons I suppose I would like a dog to be able to run with and not get tired out as quickly and I've read that they're a bit like beagles and can get lost in their own worlds, as they were trained for sniffing out other animals.Labrador Pros the right size, friendly, easy to train, great for running with or letting off the lead leash and a reliable dog and also easy to groom.Cons I dont think I have any LOL > < Wow I bet you're bored out of your mind after reading that > < I'm quite a picky person as you can see, but I'll buy either of the breeds as a puppy shelter, dont worry . So the big question Which of those three dogs are best for a first time owner me, mostly like I said before, my parents have experienced dog days and will obviously guide me to look after the dog ?Thank you sooooooooooo much DP.S. Need additional commentry? Just say so > < P.P.S Like I said before, I'm a very active, hyper person and would love to run around. My cat, of course, can be hyper but also tends to show off his claws . Which isnt the best thing...
What Diseases Are Labs And Spaniels Prone To?

Golden Retriever or Cocker Spaniel?
Which dog would be better as an active family dog? Want a dog that would most likely enjoy tagging along on fishing trips, swimming, being veeeerry friendly to people and cats as well as other dogs, and just an all around awesome dog. Low maintenance and if possible low key shedding. I know both dogs are GREAT But which one do you think would be better? My deal with Cockers is that when they grow up they can no offense be ugly and have that weird look, plus they're smaller. Would a golden be better? Or a cute sweet Spaniel. I've found a good price on very cute, home bred not puppy mill spaniels. Help Trying to decide quickly so I can surprise my family when they get home
My brittany spaniel still looks like a puppy?
I have a brittany spaniel and he is almost exactly one year and he is still not as big as brittany spaniels get. When will he be full grown?
Why is my cocker spaniel pooping in the house?
My cocker spaniel just turned 1 years old and is fully potty trained. During the day when no one is home, we leave her at the house alone and she uses the doggy door. There has never been a mess for us to come home too..YET when we are home..she seems to be pooping in our formal living room. Is this normal for cocker spaniels? Is there anything I can do to stop getting her to do this? HELP PLEASE
Do Cocker Spaniels make good family dogs?
I'm looking to get a great family dog. My friend has an extraordinary Cocker Spaniel and I was wondering if they were all usually good dogs. What's their temperament? Any info would be greatly appreciated Thanks D
Our male Cocker Spaniel refuses to poop and pee outside. He waits until we bring him back in, then goes.?
We have one male and two female Cocker Spaniels that we've had since they were 2 months old. The girls are well behaved and do their business outside. However, the male waits until he gets back inside, then poops and pees everywhere. We don't know what to do with him We've tried pads, training, giving him more time outside, but it's like he's confused and thinks he's supposed to go inside. It's very upsetting, because the girls could have their run of the house and be fine, but we have to put them all in our converted basement most of the day, because I can't have him making a mess of the house If I put him downstairs and keep the girls upstairs, they bark at each other all day. What can I do to make the male understand that he must go poop and pee OUTSIDE? Help I'm adding a few more details, because these are all good answers and do address things that may help many people, but we've tried most of them. I think shock collars are too drastic and I simply can not go there. There is always someone home here, since we adjust our work schedules so that someone is here at all times with the kids, too. We tried crating...one of the first things suggested to us...but that silly dog even went in the crate. Any other suggestions?
