Ideas needed for washing a log cabin?
By those who are not experts in log cabins, power washing has been suggested to clean the exterior of my log cabin. Then some experts in log cabins say power washing is fine, if a low spray 500 something or other is used and it is done by an experienced power washer so no water goes inside . I'm thinking of washing it myself with oxiclean so not toxic and brushes. What kind of brushes I dont want to ruin the wood ... What do you think about this plan? And what is the timeline for staining after cleaning is the wood " open" and porous and should be stained asap? I've been researching and getting assessments from people who power wash and the info is contradictory... ThanksThanks " just guessing" and " stew" great info I am concerned about roughing up the wood with either technique, but I just have to try... I think I'm going to try the elbow grease first, because I can do it myself cost effective and more foolproof? I have read that professionals can do the power washing but how would I know their skill... or if water gets in between the logs, thats going to be rough.
