Why huskies suffer hair lose?
I have a 3 year old husky named Sophie, and not too long ago she started to lose hair.. A LOT. I know they shed like crazy.. But I'm a groomer so it is common for me the brush her every day.. but doing that she losses more and more hair where she is now bald.. I feed her science diet.. but all she does also is eat a lot of grass..idk if that's with the hair loss.. but i know dogs eat grass cuz there stomach hurts..I'm starting to worry about how much she's really eating.and the hair lose.. . I am going to take her to the vet.. but that can't happen till next week... and being so worried about it.. I wanted to see if anyone could give me an idea of what i could be facing??

Are huskies and border collies good together?
When I move into a house I want to get 2 dogs, and right now I'm heavily considering getting one Siberian husky and one Border Collie. I want to get them at the same time so they'll be familiar with each other from a young age. Now, I've heard that both types of dogs are high energy, and very destructive when bored. But would leaving them together prevent this kind of behavior? My plan is to have them play together from the start as puppies so that when they're older and while I am at work they could always look to each other to play. Does this sound like a plausible plan? And yes, again, I know that both dogs are high energy and need lots of exercise I exercise every morning, and when I get them I'm going to run 3 miles each morning with both once they are old enough to run without risking bone injuries. Trust me I will definitely never throw them away because they are too " high maintenance" , I'm definitely prepared for giving my time and attention to them.

Should we get a female Siberian Husky puppy or female Shar-pei puppy?
We have a 1 year, 4 month old male shar pei at the moment and he is the most loving, intelligent, protective and obedient dog we've ever had. We want to get him a " sister" but I'm having trouble deciding whether to get a husky or another shar pei. We really fell in love with the shar pei breed, we were pleasantly supprised by how intelligent, calm and obedient this breed is. But on the other hand I've always wanted a husky, they are so beautiful. Can anyone give me advice on the husky breed? At the moment we don't have a lot of time, we don't take our current dog on walks but play with him every other evening, he runs around and gets the ball etc. I'd appreciate pro's and cons on huskies from those who have huskies as pets. Thanks in advance.

Where are some Siberian Husky breeders in Texas? or around Louisiana?
Well I didn't do that scam I almost felt for so I'm looking to get a different one. I live in Louisiana and I am going to Texas soon on Sunday, and hopefully I can find a breeder of siberian huskies if not a breeder then someone who takes care of them really well and I can go and meet the puppy. If you can't find one in Texas then how about around Louisiana? I seriously tried about 20 times researching different ad's on them with no luck because mostly all looked like the scam I almost felt for. So please any info on where to look that would be great.I do not want one from the shelter I called and they didn't have any around my area.Oh and I did my research and a lot of it on them so please no worries about that. I just need to purchase one now.lol woww I said I did my research I just need to purchase one now meaning I DON'T NEED ANY MORE RESEARCH THAN WHAT I HAVE TO KNOW HOW TO TAKE CARE OF ONE AND IM READY TO TAKE THE NEXT STEP IN PURCHASEING ONE Ok I am not going to pop up with cash and expect the dog I dealt with breeders before and I know how they work. I know they are going to ask tones of questions, im gonna want to see where they breed and if they don't let then im not purchasing because I want to see what kind of environment they live in, and they are gonna want to meet with me.

Wondering if Im doing this right? Siberian Husky?
First time around with Penelope my siberian husky blowing her coat. I just got bought a rake deshedder and used it for the first time. My boyfriend has her sister and I asked him how its done. So I did it for about 20 minutes on just one side because my arm got tired and it look like its TOO short but it may be just because one side is done and I cant see the whole pic of what shes gonna look like it by no mean bald but just doesnt look right and it feels like the other siberian huskies I've petted at the dog park so whats your advice and how long does a dogs hair take to grow back? I hope its alright I feel horrible.

I'm not allergic to Siberian Huskies, will I be alergic to Alaskan Malamutes?
Ok so I have an interesting problem. When I was younger I had a German Shepherd mix with shorter hair who I was allergic to, but my allergies would only flair up in the mornings. Then they'd start to go away as the afternoon set in. After that dog passed away we got a Siberian Husky, and I was never allergic to him no matter what time of day it was. So I am under the conclusion that I fall under that catagory of people who are allergic to dogs, but arent allergic to the dander produced by Siberian Huskies. My question is though, does that mean it is possible I am not allergic to Alaskan Malamutes to? Or is there really no answer for this question other then to be around 1 long enough to find out?Fyi I am not looking into purchasing a dog, but was just asking out of curiousity.

Tips for Owning Siberian Huskies

Tips for Owning Siberian Huskies
By Jake Kennedy

If you are looking for a dog breed that has a gentle and playful nature, and has an amazing appearance, you are looking for the Siberian Huskies. There weather proof double coat and extreme stamina will simply amaze you. This article is going to give you some tips to owning Siberian Huskies.

The first thing you should do when you get a husky is to make sure your yard is securely fenced. Huskies are great jumpers and they love to dig, so make sure that you make the fence high and the foundations deep. Without these precautions you run the risk of your new dog running way.

You will need to invest a lot of time and patience into training these dogs. The Siberian Huskies are extremely intelligent dogs but they do not always do things to please their owner, they need to see a reason for doing it. If you put the time into training them though they will begin to do what you want.

Make sure that you keep them on a leash at all times when in an open area. Huskies enjoy running, no matter where they are running to, or away from. If you take a husky off its leash and it runs away you could never see it again because it will run without knowing you are not keeping up.

You need to make sure that you allow the husky to get plenty of exercise. If you are unable to give the dog the exercise that it needs you should consider buying a companion dog that will be able to play with the husky.

If you are looking for a guard dog, this is not the dog for you. Huskies are affectionate by nature, and they are lovable, not only to you, but to strangers. If a stranger were to break into your house they would probably be able to walk straight up to the dog and the dog would lick them. So, find a different breed of dog if you are looking for a watchdog.

If you want a dog that is low maintenance and does not require much time being brushed, the Siberian Huskies are the dog for you. You will rarely have to brush them, but about twice a year they will begin to shed pretty badly and during that time you will need to brush them a lot.

Owning Siberian Huskies is a great move if you want a lovable dog. They are not the type of dog you should buy for a watchdog, but with the right amount of training you will have a low maintenance dog that is extremely nice.
