When should you start training a puppy?
the mom abandon these puppys so dont yell at me..... anyways they are 5 1 2 weeks old they are playful, healthy, beautiful, and outgoing there are 2 of the puppys that i managed to take and they both way about1 to 2 pounds. they are a boxweiler a boxer and a rottweiler mix so when do u start training them? i already have a trainer i just havent had the chance to talk to her. so please help and thank you D

House training a puppy when it's raining?
It's been raining since last night and my puppy seems scared to go outside. Should I keep doing the same thing? Which is scolding him if he goes inside and give him a treat if he goes outside. Leash training a puppy?
Does anyone have any useful advice for leash training a puppy? I have a 3 month old Rottweiler, and until we can go to puppy classes they start in 1 weeks time id like to give him some leash training.He has only been walking outside for 4 days, and at the moment, he drags behind alot,then every so often starts to walk by my side which i praise , but then he shoots off ahead, stops when a car person other dog goes by, then drags again I think he is a little fearful of cars driving by, but he seems to be overcoming it more and more everyday. Any advice on how i can get him to walk by my side the whole time? Thanks Note Before anyone comments, he IS fully vaccinated, flead, wormed ect. I am taking him to puppy obedience classes for at least 12 months as he is a big breed dog. I am not new to dogs, just new to training puppies

Any tips on potty-training a puppy?
ok, so we've had this puppy for 3 weeks now and he just doesn't seem to grasp not peeing on the carpet...i take him out every half hour to pee, but he keeps running back to the door and won't stay out...and goes on the carpet the instant he comes back in...i've tried the puppy pad thing and it doesn't work...i bought that $40 grass patch and it works only if he's locked in the kitchen. if i take the gate away, he still pees on the carpet instead of using the patch...i'm at my wits end here...this dog is about 2 1 2 months old...i don't know what else to do...i hate locking him in the kitchen all day, but i can't trust him on the carpet...are there any legitimate ideas anyone can give me? thank you

Crate training a puppy?
Hi, i have just bought an Alaskan Malamute. Me and my family are moving to Alaska so we got one from the ASPCA. I know all of the proper care that they need, but on crate training, im a little worried. I can afford everything she needs but i'm not realy sure how to crate train because i never have crate trained before. only for different types of dog shows but im thinking that this may be a little different. What are the needs that she must have, what should they have included in her cage...things like that.Thanks.

I'm trying to train a really wild boxer x lab puppy. The puppy is about the size of a boxer now, and she's 8 months old. She jumps up and bites people playfully when they sit on the couch, but she won't leave you alone if you push her off and say no. She's really sweet and learns quickly, but doesn't know when to stop playtime. My friends and I had a sleep over the other night, and one of my friends was pounced on when she tried to lay down, and it got really rough. Any tips?

I have an 8 week old puppy I'm trying to crate train. I've been trying 5 days already and there's no improvement. He just whines constantly. Last night he whined 6 7 hours straight without stopping once. What do I do??

At 7 months, is it too late to crate train a puppy?
I really want to crate train my puppy. She chews often, and in turn gets sick. I want to avoid this.So, I bought her nice, large, durable crate, and she hates it. She whined constantly, but I heard to never appease her whining as to not reinforce bad behaviors. So I didn't, she's been mostly fine.Today though, she was in the crate for about five and a half hours. When I came home, I discovered she'd chewed THROUGH the expensive, thick plastic kennel, " eliminated" everywhere, and had chewed consumed many of my belongings, mostly clothing.She's a seven month old husky german shepherd mix, and she's medium size and apparently quite strong. Is it too late to crate train her?If so, what alternative training is there.
