What am i doing wrong with my puppy house training?
So i take him out in the grass before and after meals and every hour while im home. I reward him with praise and treats when he eliminates on the grass. when i leave him at home in the kitchen during work he DOES NOT eliminate in there, he holds it until i get home. must be doing something right however, he has lately been excreting on the carpet when i am home. i stop him and take him out. but these accidents seem to be happening more and more. He is about 5 months old. and i have had him for a month and a half.he isnt peeing on the carpet. he has never done that. he is taking a crap, for the lack of a better term.
I'm teaching my puppy house training sometime she does where she suppose too sometime she does it on the floor
Weimaraner puppy house training problems ?
My last dog took no time at all to train, but this one can't seem to get it. We have her in a play pen and then I take her to the yard and she goes and I give her a treat. But if I don't accompany her outside she will pee on the porch instead of the grass. If we let her down in side the house to run around for even 5 minuets she will go on the floor, even if she just went. I don't feed her after 2pm or let her drink after 6pm. It's been 3 weeks and she is worse then ever. Help I know she is smart I already taught her how to sit, stay, come, very easily.
Would this be alright for puppy house training?
I'm getting a puppy sometime soon and I'll be spending most of my time with her, training her and such. But when I have to go to school, would having my mom tie her outside for 5 10 minutes every two hours be alright, or do you actually have to walk them?I know not to get pee pads because they'll most likely mess up the training process.
Need help with puppy house training....please!!!?
I have a 3 month old Border Collie and we have had her now just over a week. She always goes to the toilet on our carpet we have tried everything to get her to do her business outside but it's not working. She knows it's wrong as she has started going behind the couch. When I catch her in the act I tell her " No Bad Dog " and take her straight outside. She did a pooh outside once yesterday and I really praised her for it but then today I took her on a walk for nearly an hour and she waited till she was home to go to the toilet. We've spent a fortune on carpet cleaning products already. I think she knows it's bad and we don't like it so I don't understand why she isn't doing it outside. Is there anything else I could try?

New puppy house trained now peeing and pooping in the house! Help!?
Our 6 month old puppy female, shitzu poodle mix, not spayed was totally potty trained and is now peeing and pooping in the house She has never gone to the door when she had to go we just kinda had to know and we took her out every so many hours. I am a stay at home mom so I'm always here and she get taken out a lot. Furthermore she is peeing on the couch and furnature the most Pooping in the toy room I don't know what to do with her. When she does it I put her face in it and tell her no. The weird thing about it is that whenever she does it and we find it she is gone...she hides in her indoor dog house and cowers in there after she pees or poops in the house. So she knows she is doing wrong and yet she is still doing it. She is also doing it right after I take her outside I take her out and she 'goes' and not five minutes after I bring her in she is either pooping or peeing in the house What should we do with her?

I have to go to a wedding on Saturday. We will be gone for 6 7 hours. He is an 11 weeks old Lab mix. think he can hold it that long and if not will it set back his training? I was think of putting down some puppy training pads in case he can't hold it?
How do i get my puppy house trained?
i really need help if i dont get him trained ill have to get rid of him
How do I get my 6 week old puppy house trained?
OMG I am about to throw him out the window He is frusterating me so incredibly bad. okay. here's the deal. We have had this chocolate lab mix puppy for 5 days. he is only 6 7 weeks old. We live in an upstairs apartment with no private balcony or patio. We are attempting to potty train him but he goes CONSTANTLY. Yet, he never goes when we are out for a 'real' walk. Literally, we have to take him down stairs put him in the spot that he 'usually' goes and then he will go. If we let him walk himself, he will never actually go to the bathroom or it will take like 30 minutes of walking in circles. We bought pee pads the first day we got him. He used it once, & has not used it since. When he goes to the bathroom in the apartment and we catch him we automatically put him on the pee pad. At that point he lays down and now he thinks the pee pad is a 'time out' pad. My boyfriend is giving him 2 weeks before we get rid of him. Please help I don't want to have to get rid of him... Any ideas? p.s. I just started to give him treats every time he goes to the bathroom outside. Maybe it will give him incentive to hold it until he is outside? & we are outside for at least fifteen minutes about 8 times a day. I would like him to eventually go to the door when he needs to go.To add. Obviously I do not want to get rid of him or else I would not be on here trying to get help with him. I would not be getting all attached to him and I would already have an ad posted on craigslist for him. I am really trying with this dog and you guys are giving me some helpful advice and others are giving me rude advice. Thanks for all your support.Also... We got the dog on the side of the street for $5. He was in a bin of about 20 other dogs different breeds, colors and ages. I had to save him. It was either this or death for this little guy. Which would you have chosen?Taking him back to the breeder is obviously not an option.
Puppy house training problems?
My puppy is 9 months old. From the day we got her from humane society she was great. Went on the wee wee pads all the time. Only two or three accidents. Now she hasn't touched the pads for about a month. Several times she went on the floor. a few times RIGHT BESIDE THE PAD Like spiteful almost. she's had many accidents in the past month. She's getting much better and no more accidents, but won't use the pads anymore. Is it possible she's just grown out of it and is showing us she's not a puppy anymore and wants to be taken outside? Why did she stop using her weewee pads altogether? It's fine that she has no more accidents, but the pads were great when it was raining outside. Please help
Puppy house training horror... Help !!!?
Can you spot the ingredient in this recipe for disaster?1 I recently got a puppy 9 weeks , lab golden retriever mix adorable yes, house trained no2 I live in an apartment, 2nd floor, in Canada cooold , so I'd like my dogster to relieve himself on the balcony3 Said dogster used to live with his 8 siblings in an inside enclosure where they relieved themselves on newspaperNot all respected the dedicated spot don't know if mine was one that did 4 When I expect it's due, or catch him in the act, I pick him up, and with plenty encouragements, bring him to a pipipad on the balcony to relieve himself.5 PROBLEM as soon as he's there, he stops. Typical conversation PUPPY " Yo, now what??? You want me to stay here? Ok, but only cause it's you..." ME " Nooooo Please, DO poop " PUPPY " Ok, I'll stay here. But you did interrupt me at an inconvenient time, you know." ME " No no no, by all means, do continue, so I can praise you " PUPPY " Oh that's alright, I'll just get back to it later when you're looking away. No problem " ME " Oh dear." And so on.I tried putting pee imbibed paper on the balcony, sprayed the place with a special " puppy trainer" pheromone spritz, have the biscuit and the enthusiastic praise ready in case the miracle happens, but... nothing. He. Just. Stops. And lies down. And looks sad. And doesn't poop. Also, I started crate training him, and he cries desperately I only got him out once when I noticed he did a big fat poop IN THE CRATE. They're not supposed to do that, right? I guess he was due and over excited. When he wakes up from sleep, I take him out. After he eats, I take him out. After he plays, I take him out. When I catch him in the act, I take him out. NOTHING.Obviously, this puppy thinks our apartment is his toilet. Can anybody help me? Please It drives me crazy, and I don't want to continue building bad habits.Thank you very very much to anyone that answers.Thank you all for your suggestions I've tried waiting with him there longer 30 min until he should HAVE to go, yet... nothing. He must have broken a record in terms of holding in both pee poop 9 HOURS.That's right. During which time, he ate drank TWICE, had a good long sleep, went on a long walk, played ball, got excited, and when did he finally relieve himself???Wait for it....In the apartment, during the 30 seconds I managed to take my eyes off of him. I even caught him in the act and swept him off onto the balcony, where he, of course, promptly STOPPED.This puppy is very smart. He also seems to have record breaking retention capabilities for his age. 9 HOURS at 9 WEEKS old . For some reason, he is also very ashamed afraid to relieve himself in my presence. Yet I never even raised my voice at him. I just scoop him up and straight to the balcony Aye aye aye aye aye.Well, thank you all again for your advice I'll keep at it. Patience may yet win the day.
Why won't my 9 month old puppy house train?
Sophie is 9 months old, a precious long coat chihuahua. Our family got her at 9.5 weeks old from a breeder. We crate when we can't supervise and at night, we leashed to us inside when she was old enough, we go out every hour when we are home. She wets her crate, our bed, any soft material any time. She will go outside but can out wait us to go inside up to an hour .She does not sniff around, just drops down and goes when inside. We rarely catch her in the act. No UTI, vet checked. Could she be truly incontinent? Has anyone seen this before? We are sweet with her and consider it our problem, no fussing or harsh treatment in any way. Lots of praise when she goes outside. She is relatively good at holding 2. Now we use cloth diapers with liners which are usually wet up to 6 times a day even with many successful outside trips. We love this girl and this is her only flaw. Note we have a 10 yr old chihuahau successfully housetrained by us. Any new advice welcome, I think we have tried everything.again no uti, vet checked. cloth diapers inside only, we take her out every hour when we're home of course no diaper outside.
