Dog training tips for a dog that just runs off?
I have a problem with our 20 month old dog. We have only had him for about 5 months and when we first got him he was pulling at the lead and was unsocial, his previous owner never took hm for walks. Now we take him for walks 3 4 times a day. I have stopped him from pulling as much now just by stopping every time he pulls and it seems to be working. But the trouble is that he goes absolutely mental every time he sees another dog. He barks , screams, he jumps up and will not settle. We have tried letting him smell the dogs and sniff them doesn't work and if we turned back around 180 every time he sees a dog we would never get anywhere. We just don't know what to do. He is only a terrier cross, not a big dog. Also he keeps on escaping and we can't catch him. He has done this 3 times now. He runs and runs like a grey hound and the more we call him or shout he runs He nearly got run over today 3 times he ran across the road. Can anybody give us any good advice ? We can't let him off his lead and are at the end of out tether . Half of the dogs he goes mad at are well behaved Is his only option paid dog training ?Or should we get a choke collar ?Or should we get a clicker ?Any help will be appreciated.
Dog Training Tips...?
I have a 1 yr old Boxer Lab mix who is a royal pain We live in an apartment complex, and our neighbors also have dogs. Whenever we go outside for " Piddle" time, and another dog or person is simply walking by, my dog goes ballistic He knows his basic commands, but will NOT obey them during this time. I've tried working with treats, toys and bones...Nothing works. We bought a spiked training collar that pinches him when he barks, pulls... but that does not work either. Tonight, was the last straw I ended up on my butt in the snow, trying to hold onto him While he wanted to bark senselessly at a neighbor walking w groceries .We've tried 3 diff. shock coll

What are some good dog-training tips?
I have taught my dog so many tricks, and I want to teach him more but I don't know what else to teach him. I have taught him the following sit, stay, lay down, roll over, stop drop and roll, jump up, sit up, kisses, shake, and hand signals for all of them. He really is a smart dog, and I want to teach him more because I hope that someday he will be a showdog. Please give me some tips Thanks

Dog training tips please?
I was wondering if any of you dog lovers on here had any dog training tips for me. My 6 year old rescue dog can be a bit difficult, at home he is great with his training picks things up really quickly and will do almost anything for a piece of cheese or an ear rub The problems arise when we go out and about. He will bark quite aggressively at almost every dog he sees he is quite big so can be pretty scary when he starts getting vocal and I've been having some difficulty on getting him to focus on me instead of what is going on around him. If there are no distractions and he's already done his " business" I can just about get him to do a sit but this is very reluctantly. My main problem is that when we are out he has no interest whatsoever in food treats and has never been toy motivated, so how can I go about training him without having anything to tempt him with?Any advice would be most welcome
