Where can i find the proper dimensions for dog agility equipment?

Question: Where can i find the proper dimensions for dog agility equipment?

(Posted by: Me on 2008-03-31 08:53:38)

I am starting to build my dog's equipment and I need to know how high the jumps are in shows, ans well as dimensions of the other equipment. Does anyone know where to find that type of info?

You should be able to find it on the AKC website or my dog breed book for German Shepherds has it. Unfortunately the book is in my sons room he's been reading up to learn how to train our new puppy, yeah for him he's 8 and is doing a great job. I'll edit this later, he's sleeping.

Here are some links for DIY. The first one is a LONG pdf from the AKC and since it was updated Sept 2006, some of the other plans you will find on the internet may no longer be current. The changes are explained in the last link.

It depends on what venue you are interested in- there are so many, AKC, USDAA, ASCA, NADAC, TDAA, UKC. I'll include links to the first 2 akc.org/ pdfs/ rulebooks/ REAGIL.pdf usdaa.com/ binary/ files/ rules_ebook_2004_appa.pdf Knowing which venue you are interested in makes a huge difference. While some of the differences are minor (My dog jumps 24 " in AKC, but 26 " in USDAA)- some changes are somewhat significant (The double in AKC is always level, in USDAA, the lower jump heights it's ascending, the larger it's level.) The contact zones are different for both organizations, the dimensions of the tire jump are different. Hope this helps!
