i need help every time i go out my 12yr old dog starts barking loadly, this only started 5months ago when i got my new puppy any advice pleaseP.s i have tryed ultrasonic anti bark collar and box on wall which gives a high pitch noise when she barks but it dont stop her

my dog barks like CRAZY for no reason, its not becuase she hungry or wants out side, she barks at the smallest noise say i open the fridge door she freaks out and barks for no reason, sometimes she just barks for fun. she gets plenty of exercise, i want to know what kind of bark collar should i get i heard soem make a noiose dogs hate, and some zap them and others spray a smell in front of them,id prefer to make the zap collars last resort,i want to know if they work and which ones work good. thanks

We have done training... he barks when we are not HOME, so the telling him quite does nothing. so we chose a spray collar instead of a shock one since ht esonic collar didn't wven phase him.I understand that it should be Citronella but what BRAND, like petsafe or inotech or whatever?We did start early. at 4 weeks. how much earlier could we have started? but he is a sturborn one.

I am thinking about getting my Yorkie a good bark collar. She goes crazy when ever she hears a noise from the people who live upstairs or if anything walks or drives past the windows. She has woken me up at 6 am every morning due to her barking since we moved into our new apartment. I have tried spraying her with water and putting her in a crate nothing seems to work. I was wondering if anyone has used the collar. How it woks and if it hurts the dog. Any information you have will be really helpful. Or if you have any other ideas how to stop the barking. Thank you.

i have a miniature schnauzer who's a little over a year old. He barks constantly at people outside the window or if anyone has to come into my apartment. We've tried everything to get him to stop. we started out by just using a spray bottle and spraying him when he barked but that didn't work. So then we went to a behavior modification class and went through training with him. He remembers all the tricks they taught him sit, lay down roll over tell us when you need out, shake etc but he still barks at people. I don't know what to do, my apartment manager told me I needed to get him to stop barking. So my question is what type of bark collar should i get him. I hate the idea of getting him one but I feel like its my only option. So what type? or what else should i try?

Would a citronella anti bark collar cause my epileptic dog to fit?
My dog is on a lot of medication for epilepsy thankfully he only has 1 or 2 seizures a month now , but recently he has started to whine and bark a lot whilst in the car. I am due to have a baby in the next 3 months and so I need to sort this issue out, or I will no longer be able to take him out with me and I don't want to leave him at home all the time. I obviously cannot use a spray bottle while I am driving, so I was wondering if a citronella anti bark collar would be a good thing or would it cause him to fit? I need some advice, thanks.

Which barking collar to buy?
There are so many types now, citronella, e collars, ultra sonic.... I'm not sure which one to get. We have a Belgian shepherd and a miniature fox terrier and are just trying to reduce nuisance barking. Any first hand experience or knowledge on the topic is well appreciated.

My 1 year old Mini Dachshund is a terrible barker when she is outside. I bought a bark collar, but because of the protruding chest of Dachshunds it didn't fit properly to produce the shock necessary to correct the action so I returned it. I think the problem was mostly in the way the collar was one solid piece of plastic rubber and didn't fit snug around her neck.Not very helpful. If I was a persistent barker and a collar was the only thing to keep me quiet, then sure I'd strap out around my neck. And yes, the dog is out unsupervised because I am not going to stand outside for 20 minutes while she decides when and where she wants to pee. She is chained short enough that she can't leave the yard and uses a harness so she can't escape.

EXP with BARK COLLARS??
Last night my husband and I had some what of an argument b c my 7 mo old GSD barks constantly and he works night shifts. He has been unable to sleep during the day with the barking....... I thought i was going to have to rehome her but we decided we'd try a bark collar first. I really do not want to rehome her and I was wondering what your exp with bark collars are. Also can i put the collar on during the hours he is asleep and take it off at night? and If i use the bark collar will she still bark outside if someone was to come up or try to break in? I stay by myself so she is a comfort to me to ahve at night b c she would throw a fit if anyone tried to come in on me..which isn't likly since i live in a safe nieghborhood with close nieghbors....but its nice to know she could scare someone off.

Best Humane Bark Collar?
I have a Beagle Dachshund mix who is 6 months old, and lately he has been barking a lot. I've tried everything to make him stop without having to use a bark collar, but the barking wont stop. I don't really want to use a shock collar, so I was thinking of the other humane collars with the bad smell or bad noise. However, I also have 2 huskies and Im afraid that if I get one of the humane collars that the Huskies will have to suffer from the noise or smell too. Would they be able to hear smell the humane collar on my little dog? Any suggestions? Thanks
